It encompasses qualities of connection, nurturing relationships, and intuitive understanding. It's important to recognize that everyone possesses both masculine and feminine energies, and the balance between these energies varies from person to person. Toxic masculinity and toxic femininity refer to distorted or exaggerated expressions of gender-related behaviours that can be harmful to individuals and society: Toxic Masculinity: Toxic masculinity refers to the societal expectations and norms that prescribe rigid and harmful behaviors for men, such as emotional suppression, aggression, dominance, and the suppression of vulnerability or sensitivity. It can contribute to violence, misogyny, homophobia, and other forms of harmful behavior. Toxic Femininity: Toxic femininity refers to societal expectations and norms that prescribe harmful behaviors for women, such as passivity, self-sacrifice, excessive emotional dependence, and the suppression of assertiveness or ambition. It can contribute to low self-esteem, internalized misogyny, and the perpetuation of gender stereotypes. The concept of the dark feminine energy is often associated with aspects of the feminine archetype that are less understood or accepted in mainstream culture.   • MINDSET: HOW THE MIND IS SET

    The mental diet and gym ritual that gets me tuned into my aspired state of mind. Yes, I'm currently on a mental diet. Let me explain what I mean: Imagine your mind as a garden, and your thoughts as the seeds you plant. Just as you'd care for your garden by watering it and pulling out weeds, your mental diet is all about tending to the thoughts and beliefs that grow in your mind. It's like feeding your brain with nourishing, positive thoughts and ideas, just like you'd feed your body with healthy food. When you're on a mental diet, you're mindful of what you're allowing into your mind. This is something I choose to be more conscious of at times when I become aware of that I need to get back to a better state of mind after a very difficult time mentally an d emotionally. @fashionablefit You choose thoughts that make you feel good, that lift you up, and that help you grow. It's about being aware of the negativity, limiting or self-doubt that might creep in and consciously choosing to replace those thoughts with ones that serve you better. Think of it as curating your mental space, surrounding yourself with thoughts and beliefs that support your well-being and personal growth. It's not always easy, and just like any diet, it takes practice and consistency. But over time, you'll notice how your mindset shifts, how you become more resilient, and how much brighter your outlook on life can be. Now this is not only what you create from within. It's just as much if not even more a conscious effort of what you allow in. Mental diet practices often include techniques such as gratitude journaling, affirmations, mindfulness meditation, cognitive restructuring, and selective exposure to uplifting content. By consistently nourishing the mind with positive and empowering thoughts, you can cultivate a more optimistic mindset, enhance emotional resilience, and foster greater overall well-being. Today more than ever I have come to learn the importance of evaluating and editing my life. Meaning carefully and consciously curating what I expose and let impress my mind. It's crucial when I'm going through more difficult season of life. The Mental Diet Ritual: For The Gym I start in the changing rooms by listening to Just Fine by Mary J. Blige. Yes.., I'll be somewhat dancing in the bathroom stall, this tune is such a vibe. The lyrics are like a prayer for me, it's where I aspire to get to. I start my warm up and workout still listening to the record x 3 times. Then I move on to the motivational speech. I'm someone that can get into really dark places mentally. Like really really dark, and I'm also someone that is the only one that can get me out of it. These kind of motivational speeches are kinda tough love and pretty masculine in my opinion. But at times they truly work for me and brings that grit, grind and graft mentally out of me. So I keep it on repeat and let the words flood my mind and empower me throughout the workout. I came across this video the other day that I though expressed well what it means and requires to do significant change in your life. Now if you like me is someone that truly struggled to change certain patterns and cycles in life, don’t let the light hearted enthusiasm in these videos make you feel like this work is easy. To rise like a phoenix from the ashes, you must endure burning in the flames. To truly die from who you was in order to be and become who you know you can be can be painful and task that at times feels impossible. But it’s not! You have the power to reinvent yourself and create your dream life.   • 1 MONTH WITHOUT CAFFEINE

    It all started with an occasionally heavy PMS and period cramps and me dismissing it with Ibuprofen and "everyone's like this before their period". Somewhere in the back of my head I reminisced that my sister cut out coffee to support her cycle, and finally giving her theory a chance + some research online I found out caffeine isn't serving our hormonal health. What I've done: No caffeine for the past 43 days.. and counting! Daily intake of supplements: iron, B6, Omega-3, Magnesium, Zink, Vitamin D. I never eat a lot of sugar, dairy or gluten, but I've been extra aware during the past month - mealprepping for a healthy and regular intake of nutritious meals. Benefits noticed: More even energy during the day Not getting the caffeine kick in the morning took me some days to get used to, but Skin is clearing up / less hormonal acne It's January and my skin is not loving the temper - but I see a difference in the hormonal acne. Barley feeling the PMS (but still feeling the menstrual pain) Let's say my overall well being and mood has improved during phase 3 (the days between ovulation and menstruation), but I still felt some period cramps. Improved gut health and new gut rhythm My stomach's happier - calmer and more balanced! Less stressed / More focused Knowing that I'll support my body to have the same energy level during the entire day makes me less stressed, knowing that I will perform just as good in the morning as in the afternoon. One month in reflections; Overall I'm so impressed by the quick benefits of quitting one daily habit. It has really improved my overall well being, and YES I do crave a cup of coffee every now and then - but I can easily switch it out for a cup of Chicca Roast or Caffeine free coffee.     Need some gymspo for your next weights session in the gym? I got you! This will have your hamstring fired up and build real lower body and core strength. @fashionablefit Warm Up : Dynamic stretch for hamstrings and lower body and reps on lighter weight. A1. Deadlifts : 10 reps x 4 sets A2. Dumbbell Stiff Leg deadlifts : 10 reps x 4 sets B1. Good Mornings : 10 reps x 4 sets B2. Romanian Deadlifts : 10 reps x 4 sets C1. Laying Hamstring Curls : 10 reps x 4 sets C2. Seated Hamstring Curls : 10 reps x 4 sets Note: Complete all 4 sets in group A before moving onto exercises in group B and the C. Do exercises back to back with minimum rest. At end of the second exercise ( i.e A2) in the super set you can rest for up to 90 seconds or of course as much as you need before starting the next set.     BY: ALVA POLETTI I usually refrain from using the term 'Successful' due to its negative connotation to hustle culture, money-making, and toxic perfectionism. However, I struggle to find a better word to convey the idea. Success holds varied meanings for different individuals; for some, it may equate to a specific amount of money in their bank account, while others define it through health, relationships, or experiences. Regardless, there's a common trait among successful people—an art they've perfected. Though mastering this craft may not be easy, the principle is simple. As I often say, adopting new habits or achieving meaningful change involves three steps: first, knowing; second, understanding what you know; and lastly, applying what you've understood. This article aims to assist you in knowing and understanding the powerful tool called the 'Bounce Back Rate,' a term coined by one of my favorite motivation and wellness entrepreneurs, Mimi Bouchard, founder of the Superhuman App. However, it's up to you to apply it in order to reach your goals. Source: Pinterest Progress is not linear and success doesn't come over night. This is true even for those conventionally labeled as successful. Bearing this in mind, it's crucial to recognize that straying from the path is inevitable on the route to achieving your goals. The determinant of your success isn't the frequency of your deviations from the path but rather how quickly you regain your course. The concept of the 'Bounce Back Rate' refers to the speed with which you rediscover your path or rise after a fall. Initially, your BBR might span months, yet akin to any other muscle, it can be strengthened. With time, your BBR may dwindle to weeks, days, minutes, or even seconds. Consider this scenario: you've committed to a week of healthy eating, but by Wednesday lunch, you succumb to cravings, deviating from your plan. A person with a short BBR easily returns to the healthy meal plan by dinner, while someone with a slightly slower BBR might deem the day ruined, opting to continue unhealthy eating for the remainder of the day. Some individuals have a BBR so slow that they grapple for weeks or even months to return to the original plan after a minor deviation. This pattern often becomes apparent when people dive into intense exercise routines in January, burn out after four weeks, and don't return to the gym until September. Similarly, it can explain why some individuals find it immensely challenging to embark on a job search after for example being fired. Now, I find that the primary reason many individuals find it challenging to bounce back is the profound self-disappointment stemming from too high expectations. I firmly believe that elevating your BBR hinges on cultivating self-compassion. Yet, practicing self-compassion doesn't mean choosing to remain inert in the mud after stumbling; it involves granting yourself grace for the misstep all the while loving yourself enough to rise up and dust yourself off. The quicker you become adept at this, the faster you'll progress towards your goals. Lastly, I would like to underscore that the 'Bounce Back Rate' is relevant only when you have a clear goal in mind. The way I see it, veering off a path or falling from a ladder is only possible when there's a defined goal you aim to reach. Echoing the wisdom of the Cheshire Cat, "If you don't know where you want to go, it doesn't matter which road you choose." With those wise words, I've nothing left to say but - Over n' out, peeps!
